Most Pikler triangles are finished with the child by three. They get too easy, and they get put in the garage. This one has a second life waiting inside it.
Unclip it, turn one hand tightened screw, and the triangle becomes a Swedish wall, a vertical climbing frame that goes on getting harder as they get stronger. About a minute, no tools.
Read this before you order. Swedish Wall mode requires the included frame to be screwed to a solid wall. It is mounted once and stays there, and the climber clips in and out of it. If you cannot fix into your wall, you can still use it as a freestanding Pikler triangle, but you will not get the second mode. Ask us if you are unsure what your wall will take.
What you are getting
Materials and origin
Tape the floor out before you buy. In triangle mode it occupies about 87 by 78 cm. In wall mode it takes almost no floor at all, only 12 cm of depth, but it needs 144 cm of clear wall height above the fixing.
Figures are leg&go's own published specification for this set.
Triangle mode. A freestanding Pikler triangle. Babies use the lower bars to pull themselves up to standing, then start climbing the low rungs as their confidence grows. It sits on the floor and needs no fixing.
Wall mode. A vertical Swedish wall, the kind used in gymnastics halls. Children stretch, hang and climb, which builds grip strength and full body control in a way a floor triangle cannot.
Switching between them. A wall frame is fixed to the wall once and stays there. The climber clips into that frame, so you are never remounting the bars themselves. To go back to triangle mode you unclip it and turn one large hand tightened screw on the side. leg&go put the changeover at about a minute, with no tools.
leg&go state the set is also compatible with their Balance Board and Table and Chair add-ons.
Assembly is required and the manual is in the box. For wall mode, the frame must be fixed to a solid wall following the manufacturer's instructions. Fix into studs or use fixings rated for the substrate. Drywall anchors alone are not appropriate for a structure a child hangs from.
Put something soft underneath. A climbing frame is a climbing frame, and a play mat under it changes what a slip feels like.
Check every fixing and the hand tightened screw before each session and after any changeover. Retighten anything that has worked loose.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it. Do not store it outdoors. Always follow the manufacturer's manual and our safety recommendations.
